The Open Table of the World with the Rev. Dr. Ruth Duck

The 2017 Associated Parishes for Liturgy and Mission Colloquium explores the connection between the Eucharist, meal rituals and “table manners” both in scripture stories and everyday life. This leads to the relationship between Eucharist and Christian ministries of hospitality, justice, and compassion in our church and in our world. This event will also include hymns with texts by Ruth Duck.

Rev. Duck’s writings about Christian worship include Worship for the Whole People of God: Vital Worship for the 21st Century (2013), Finding Words for Worship, (1995) and Praising God: The Trinity in Christian Worship , as well as books of worship resources. Her hymn texts appear in hymnals in many countries and denominations, and she has been honored by the Hymn Society in the United States and Canada for her contributions to congregational song. Duck, an ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ, has served churches in Wisconsin and Massachusetts.
