Overview
As Christian scholars, the CDSP faculty serves the church and its ministry in the world. Their teaching takes place in seminars, lectures, discussion sections, and workshops, and increasingly through the use of electronic media. Their research is made available to a wide range of audiences through their many publications and speaking engagements. All of them share in leading worship and preaching, both in the seminary chapel and in local congregations. As advisors in CDSP’s various academic programs, they offer guidance and counsel. Faculty strive to attend to students as whole persons and as individuals with particular vocations, whether ordained or lay. In the seminary community of teaching and learning, faculty and students are companions together in a search for truth. This search is often hard work, but it is also a source of unending joy. As Lady Julian of Norwich reminds us: “Truth sees God, and wisdom contemplates God, and of these two comes the third, and this is a marvelous delight in God, which is love.”
