An event with academically informed sessions (including panels and speakers) on topics of interest to currently practicing clergy and lay leaders. There are two one-week courses, each focused on a theme, and the sessions are paired with opportunities for more casual activities that relate to each week's theme, and opportunities for relaxation and renewal for attendees.
Fees: $350 per week. Meals and accommodations not included. For lodging information, go to Easton Hall Conference Center.
This year's topics:
These sessions are intended for people who want to know more about the resources for blessing same-sex relationships and how to introduce and use them in their congregations. This includes those who want to understand why the church is blessing same-sex relationships but don't imagine that their congregation will be hosting these blessings, those who want to lead their congregation in discerning whether to offer these blessings, and those who are eager to move ahead with blessings and want more tools for using the resources.
Led by: The Rev. Dr. Ruth Meyers, Hodges-Haynes Professor of Liturgics and Dean of Academic Affairs, Church Divinity School of the Pacific
These sessions are intended for people interested in music in The Episcopal Church. Given the important role of music in the worship life of every community, this study week will explore how we as a church renew and transform our understanding and commitment to music as an integral part of our common life.
Led by Mr. George Emblom, Director of Chapel Music and Lecturer in Church Music
