Forum: Doctrine Matters with Bishop Richard Cheetham

Thu, Sep 20, 2012 7:30 pm

CDSP welcomes the Rt. Rev. Dr. Richard Cheetham, the Church of England's Bishop of Kingston, as he speaks on the topic, "Doctrine Matters: It's the Theology, Stupid."

This forum will explore the importance of doctrine and intelligent theology in the life of the Church and the wider world, some of the barriers to that, and the crucial role of clergy and other theologians in making thoughtful faith both intelligible and accessible in a global and pluralised world in which Christianity is deeply contested.

Bishop Cheetham has recently been made an Honorary Research Fellow of King’s College in the University of London and is on the Council of Roehampton University. He is also chairman of the UK’s Christian-Muslim Forum.

This forum will take place in the Tucson Common room, off St. Margaret's Courtyard on the lower level of the CDSP campus.
