Forum: Episcopal Relief and Development in a Local Context

Thu, Mar 13, 2014 7:30 pm

Tucson Common Room, CDSP campus

Join us for a Eucharist and forum exploring themes and practices related to Episcopal Relief and Development. How can we think about, pray about, and act on the big, complex issues that face communities today, globally and locally? What concerns and what gifts do we bring to the table as a changing community at CDSP?

We welcome the Rev. Tommy Dillon as our presider and forum speaker. At the forum, he will speak about disaster preparedness and community organization in the neighborhood surrounding St. Aidan's, and then we will provide some useful tools for those interested in the possibilities for their own communities.

The Rev. Tommy Dillon serves as Rector of Saint Aidan's Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Tommy's leadership at St. Aidan's has been focused on deepening the parish's spiritual roots while expanding their vision and presence in the local community. He has partnered with many gifted lay leaders in growing the parish's neighborhood food pantry, developing a neighborhood disaster preparedness resilience group, creating a Sunday afternoon emerging church community at St. Aidan’s, deepening their stewardship and giving, engaging in spiritual conversations with seekers and spiritual agnostics through the Sacred Cocktails Ministry in the Castro, and welcoming many newcomers into their inclusive, Spirit-filled community.

This forum is a part of CDSP’s weekly Community Night.
Join us for Eucharist at 5:45 in All Saints Chapel and dinner ($12 – please RSVP to the CDSP Front Office at 510-204-0700)
