The staff accountant is a full-time position and will report to the Controller. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Data entry into accounting software.
  • Bank, credit card, and merchant account transaction entries and account reconciliations.
  • Posting of A/R checks, Cash, Credit Card receipts.
  • Assist with month-end close, related accruals, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Running A/R: invoices, statements, account adjustments, etc.
  • Process/manage semi-monthly payroll.
  • Respond to any employee issues regarding pay, taxes, or portal difficulties.
  • Work with payroll processor to resolve any tax issues, corrections, and tax agency notifications.
  • Assist with payroll data collection for annual accrediting reports.
  • Annual 1098T and 1099 processing.
  • Other projects as assigned by Controller.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 2+ year's accounting experience. Non-profit accounting experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP's, Pivot Tables).
  • Familiarity with Intacct (software) is a plus.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, analytical and willing to handle challenging assignments.
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under conditions requiring speed and accuracy.
