Gender-inclusive language

Seminary Policy On Gender-Inclusive Language Definition: The policy at CDSP is that gender-inclusive language, i.e., language that strives to include both sexes equally, should be regarded as standard in public discourse, and that gender-exclusive language should be avoided as much as possible. The American Academy of Religion defines gender-exclusive language as follows:

Governance

To assist in the normal operations of the life of CDSP, the Administration has established committees composed of students, faculty, and staff for planning purposes and certain administrative roles in selected areas.
Government Student Loan Programs

CDSP participates in the federal Direct loan program. Through this loan program, eligible financial aid applicants may borrow federal Unsubsidized loan funds to help meet the cost of educational expenses. The application for this loan is available through the Consortial Financial Aid Office.
Graduate Theological Union

CDSP was one of the founding members of the ecumenical and inter-faith Graduate Theological Union in 1962. The GTU is a consortium of nine seminaries, including Roman Catholics, Protestants, and Unitarians. Eight of the nine GTU members are located in Berkeley, six of them within just a few blocks of each other near CDSP.
