The GTU Community

Because CDSP is located in the center of 'Holy Hill,' home to six of the nine member seminaries of the Graduate Theological Union, members of the CDSP community are able to attend the wide range of special events, lectures, exhibits and public forums scheduled at the various schools and affiliated centers, which express the richness and diversity of this unique ecumenical and inter-religious community.

Here are some of the events scheduled in the Fall Semester, 2012:

• The Doug Adams Gallery, the GTU Center for the Arts, Religion and Education, presents "Sunday Spirit: Religious Images by African American Artists from the Jean and Robert E. Steele Collection." • Third Annual Harkness Lecture of The Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry, Pacific School of Religion: Dr. Susannah Cornwell: "Asking About What is Better: Intersex, Disability, and Inaugurated Escatology", Pacific School of Religion Chapel, 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012. Dr. Cornwell also is speaking at CDSP on 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 in the Tucson Common Room. 
• "Responding to the Events in Libya and Egypt," a panel discussion in the Zaytuna Building (formerly the Ecumenical Center), corner of Le Conte and Scenic Avenue, sponsored by The Center for Islamic Studies at the Graduate Theological Union is co-sponsoring a panel with Zaytuna College in response to the recent events in Benghazi, Libya and Cairo, Egypt., at 7: 30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012.
• Brown Bag Luncheon with the Director of the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey, Switzerland, Dinner Boardroom, Flora Lamson Hewlett Library, 2400 Ridge Road, presented by The GTU President’s and Dean’s Offices, to hear the director of the Ecumenical Institute, Professor Dr. Father Ioan Sauca, discuss the importance of  ecumenical formation, 12:30 to 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.

• "The Unfinished Agenda of Vatican II," first in a series of events on this theme, a keynote address presented in Holy Spirit Parish, Newman Hall, UC Berkeley, by Rev. Joseph Komonchak of Catholic University, presented by the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.16.
