    Annual Fund

Every year CDSP is dependent on the generosity of friends and congregations to help us achieve our mission. And every year, nearly 1500 individuals and over 400 churches contribute $1,000,000 to the Annual Fund, making a difference in the life of this school.

Help bridge the gap! Tuition fees provide only about one-third of our annual operating budget. Our endowment funds earn income covering another 25%, and other sources of income help provide about 20% of our budget. That leaves 20%—or about $1,000,000—for the Annual Fund to enable us to train women and men for church leadership.

When the Annual Fund falls short of its goals, programs and financial support suffers; on the other hand, when it achieves or surpasses its goals, we are able to try new programs and provide even more financial aid. Thus your contribution to the Annual Fund will have an immediate and tangible impact on students and faculty alike.

St. Margaret's Chair for Women and Ministry

The first faculty position of its kind in any Episcopal seminary, the St. Margaret's Chair for Women and Ministry deliberately links the rich and diverse past of women's service—as teachers, missionaries, benefactors, deaconesses, visitors and hospitality volunteers—with the present opportunities for lay ministry and ordained service as deacons, priests and bishops.

The St. Margaret's Chair will focus on the practice of ministry. Teaching in the Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry and academic programs through the Graduate Theological Union, the holder of this chair will become a catalyst for understanding the ministry of women, and empower new visions for all lay and ordained ministers.

    St. Margaret's Chair Challenge Grant
Beginning with donations received October 1, 2006, the challenge grant donors will match all gifts up to $499 at 1:1, and will provide a 2:1 match for all gifts between $500 and $999. In addition, they will provide a 3:1 match for all gifts between $1,000 and $5,000. This means that a gift of $500 will generate a $1,000 match by the donors, yielding a total contribution of $1,500. A $5,000 gift will generate a $15,000 match by the donors and result in a total contribution of $20,000 to the St. Margaret's Chair. The challenge grant will cease once the cap is reached.
