Installation of New President and Dean

The Very Rev. W. Mark Richardson, Ph.D., was installed as the 13th president and dean of Church Divinity School of the Pacific on the evening of Oct. 13, 2010. The installation was part of a festival Eucharist that took place in St. Margaret's Courtyard on the CDSP campus in Berkeley, California.

The Bishop of California, the Rt. Rev. Marc Handley Andrus, extended greetings from the Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. The Bishop of Northern California, the Rt. Rev. Barry Beisner, presided and the new president preached on the future of theological education.

The Eucharist was followed by a reception in Easton Hall, the seminary's guest house and conference center. Earlier in the day, the new dean led a forum in All Saints Chapel, "Evolution as Theology's Friend," which represented a closer look at his most recent work as a systematic theologian.
